Strawberry Cheesecake

Strawberry Cheesecake

I have a recipe for strawberry cheesecake for my bread maker and I bought some strawberry glaze for the topping. I also bought some frozen stawberries. Do I cook the stawberries in water with some sugar to sweetenen them a bit ? Then chill the mixture to pour over the cheesecake. The recipe doesn't specify.

Thank You,

James

Re: Strawberry Cheesecake

Hi James, I would normally cook the strawberries a bit, with a bit of sugar and just a touch of water. I often add a bit of cornstarch (mixed with equal amount of water) to the strawberries, just to firm up the mix, but this will depend on whether or not you are adding the glaze to the strawberries.

Of course, if the strawberries are already sweet, you could likely just slice them and then just pour the glaze over top.

Whatever you decide to do, just make sure you cool them first (like you said).

Good luck, I have never made a cheesecake in a breadmaker before!

THank you for your reply. I have Zojirushi 1 Lb. bread maker and it has a cake option on it, as well as a pizza, and pasta and cookie and jam option on it. It's a great little breadmaker. Rated better than the 2lb. breadmaker.

Thank You so much again,
James
