I have found a recipe for a nice jack daniels BBQ saus on the net, and have totaly fallen in love with it. I have also served it to friends and they have also loved it. So now I have started to get questions from my friends to make some fore them. So I have started to make from time to time to have a small storage. But I don't know how to best store it, and how long will it last? Can someone help me with this.

Maybe knowing the ingredients help
it is

and cayenne pepper

Hope somone can help

RE: Shelf Life for BBQ Sauce

It's tough to give you an accurate estimate. The shelf life will depend on the ratio of the ingredients used. High amounts of vinegar and sugar are more or less preservatives, and along with dried spices, the shelf life can be several months. When you start adding fresh ingredients (i.e. garlic, onions, fruit juices, pineapple, etc.) this can shorten the shelf life from several months to weeks.

My guess is that the sauce would be fine in the refrigerator for a few weeks...longer if everything has been properly sterilized/jarred. Your best bet is to give small jars as gifts and be sure to tell your friends to use it up quickly. Make a small batch and test it out in your own fridge. Keep track of the date and taste it before using. This way, you'll get a better idea of how long that particular sauce will keep. Hope this helps! Cheers!
