Will someone at the school please give a vidio lesson about choosing - testing avocados for being ready to eat. Never ever pinch one, it ruins the fruit. A gentil squeese with the open palm of your hand will tell you what you want to know. I love them but too often find when I get them home they are full of black spoiled spots that are made by brusing caused when people have pinched them to total ruin. In short as with the Charmin, PLEASE DO NOT PINCH THE FRUIT.

Choosing Avocados

Okay, Jim, You seem to be asking for advice, and saying what that advice should be, in the same breath.

I like avocados, and I am pretty good at choosing them. The ONLY way to choose an avocado, as far as I know, is to give them a tiny squeeze. If they squish just the right amount, they are ripe, and they are the ones I buy.

You seem to object to this. Do you have a better suggestion?
