New Year's Dinner

New Year's Dinner

Instead of going out, we usually make a nice dinner at home on New Year's Eve. This year I'm planning on pan-seared scallops with beurre blanc, twice baked potatoes, some sort of green salad, and creme brulee for dessert.

Those of you who also prefer to stay home: what are you making tonight?

New Years Eve

I will be making Filet Mignon, roasted fingerling potatos, a green salad and asparagus with hollendaise sauce. Chocolate molton cake with vanilla bean ice cream, will be the dessert.

RE: New Years Eve Dinner

We are making Berkshire Pork with a parsnip/celeriac/cauliflower puree and some sauteed green beans. Not sure about dessert yet but I do know the wine and bubbly we are drinking :-)

Happy New Years Everyone!!!

New Year's

Sounds delicious. I decided on impulse when I ran out to the store at lunch that I'd make some shrimp cocktail as well. You can put together a pretty nice spread for less than what it costs to go out!

Happy New Years to all of you.

New Years Eve dinner

We are having Berkshire pork also. We're not so "backwater" here in Pittsburgh! And, some elk rillettes for an appetizer. And of course, just a bit of champagne.

New Years

We did not have anything special for dinner but are going to have French Toast with caramelized pears in the morning. With bacon of course.

What time is Breakfast Andrew

French Toast with caramelized pears sounds wonderful.

Wow Andrew! Minnesota minds must think alike...

I made bannas foster french toast this morning and bacon on the side of course!! I worked last night so no special dinner. I hit a home run last week though with Christmas dinner. Prime rib, Alaskan king crab legs, braised pearl onions with wild mushrooms and horseradish mashed potatoes and glazed carrots!
