Lesson Order?

I am so thrilled and excited I ran across Rouxbe...perhaps I won't have to eat Top Ramen and Kraft Mac and Cheese for the rest of my life!! :) Clearly, I am a novice cook. With that in mind, is there a recommended order in which the cooking school lessons should be taken?

Thank you!

Lesson Order?

Kelly, I've been cooking for others since 1974. I believe that ROUXBE is the best site ever for learning to cook and advance anyones skills. It is my most heart felt recommendation that you start with knife skills then continue on down the listing as provided by these most wonderful people at ROUXBE. Knife skills and the basics provide the basis for all cooking regardsless of the cuisine your undertake. Knife skills translate to sauces with move on and on and on. However, what is so great about ROUXBE, over culinary school, is that you can try anything you'ld like when ever you deem yourself ready. Best of all, you can ask all the questions you'ld like without any hesitation. Welcome to the ROUXBE family, it is a wonderful place. Best Regards from North Carolina, and as they always say at ROUXBE Cheers!

Thanks, Terry R!

I appreciate your input very much! I assumed, probably naturally, that cooking skills, like most others, develop in a certain progression and that there are some skills you simply cannot learn properly without having acquired more basic skills first...that is why I wasn't too certain about following the lessons in the order they were listed. Thank you again!
