What is the role of rainbow pepper corns? Any advantage/disadvantage compared to good black peppercorns?

This is a mix that we rarely, if ever use. We prefer the clean and simple flavor of black peppercorns.

Funny that you should ask this, as over the holidays I was cooking at friends and they only had this blend. I could taste the pink peppercorns throughout the entire tomato sauce that I made (and I did not like it). I went out the very next day and bought them a big thing of black peppercorns :-) Cheers!
