My ex-chef husband pulled me (not unwillingly) deep into the heart of the food world while we were dating, I think as an effort to woo me via risotto (it obviously worked). Now I'm entrenched and not budging. My one year old is being dragged (also not unwillingly) into the same world, and it is a joy to watch him eat with such enthusiasm and without reserve. My passion is real, true food - avoiding synthetic and processed foods as much as possible, and exploring local, natural, and sustainable ways of eating. I have a slightly unnatural obsession with lemons, what I think to be a rather healthy love of cheddar cheese, and tend to emit missives of love while eating caramelized plantains. Food is more than a hobby or obsession: it's a compulsion.
