Two things I can't resist are food and orchids. When I make a decision to travel somewhere, a big part of the experience will be what kind and the quality of food I will find there. I love to cook for my friends and do it pretty well, but, I think I will be able to prepare food much better when I have a fuller understanding of it's properties. What happens to something when it's heated or water is added to it. That sort of thing.

I love orchids because I think they are a challenge. Someone told me I couldn't do it, as in reblooming the plants and so what could I do but prove them wrong? I started with one and the collection grew to 500. I've successfully rebloomed almost every plant I've aquired and even won a few American Orchid Society Awards. *blush*
