I also like to quilt and garden.
I live in British Columbia, on beautiful Denman Island, (pop. 1,000); moved here from Toronto about 20 years ago and haven't regretted it for a moment. Fresh produce is abundant here in the summer, however it's a challenge in the winter as is obtaining fresh meat and poultry. Major shopping involves the time and expense of a ferry ride and a 45-minute drive, so I only do it about once a month. My freezer is alway full, but it would be nice to prepare meals from really fresh food more frequently. That's just one of the trade-offs of living in paradise.
