I just started toying around with cooking a few months ago and regularly host a Friday dinner. I was getting pretty good compliments on the things I was putting together, just off of recipes, with no real technique. I figured this would be a good time to start really learning how to cook instead of just performing a list of tasks without any real knowledge of the processes and ingredients involved. I hope to learn a lot of new things, improve my current skills, and be more efficient in the kitchen.
