I am a full time arborist with a passion for cooking whole foods and international cuisines. As a mother of 2 grown boys and 2 grown step children I am inspired by holistic thinking and like a well rounded approach to healthy living and eating. I am an omnivore but love eating a more plant-based diet. My ideas about vegetarian and vegan type diets are to learn to bring the beauty out of whole ingredients and stay away from processed products.
Inspiring people and young folks about cooking and sharing my enthusiasm is something I would like to do. I am comfortable (teaching) in front of a group of people when I can share exciting new discoveries or show others a new way to enjoy food that also is good for health and well being. There is no world cuisine I do not like or want to try. Indian tops my list, especially with the bold use of herbs and spices, lentils and vegetables. I am a former Pan Am flight attendant and had opportunity to travel the world in my twenties and thirties. This has shaped my love of world cuisines.
Nothing is more satisfying about teaching others as when you see that light bulb finally go on!
You might call me a food adventurer.
The motto that is on my resume is:
Variety is the spice of life.
Indeed this is true.
