I have always enjoyed food very much. Omnivore's Dilemma was very influential in the way I thought about food. It made more more excited about home cooked food with a list of ingredients that made sense. Then by accident, as I cooked more, I run into more technique-driven cooking sites like The Reluctant Gourmet. I realized that technique was the key to success -- and a key that that was not too complicated to acquire. On Reluctant Gourmet I then found out about your site, and I must say it looks really cool!
