I started cooking at about age 8/9 because I disliked my mother's runny eggs. Got my first cook book as a gift in 7 th grade and just love to cook. Due to my mother' various bouts of illnesses, i had to cook for a family of 7 when i was a junior and senior in high school as well as times in college. In spite of that, i love to cook, put on a colorful and tasty meal for my family, which now is most often just my husband and myself. Would love to refine my skills making sure they are perfected since I am completely self- taught and generally use recipes as ideas rather than direction ( unless it involves baking). We are moving more and more toward plant-based diet here though I am not seeing giving up cheese or seafood anytime soon. Have recently gone gluten-free, to very good effect re my digestive system, and am getting accustomed to that culinary adjustment.
Have lots of skills. Looking for that refinement of all the basics, mother sauces and their variens, proper names, pronounciations!!, and different recipes you can use each with.
