Question:

How do I keep the insides of stainless cookware shiny and beautiful the way it was when my mom used it for years?

— Terri Baker

Answer:

I'm not sure what your mom did to keep her stainless steel so shiny. Um, there are products out there that you can use, um, you know, to clean the inside of your pan to make it nice and shiny looking. Um, there's a, a product called bar keeper's Friend, I believe, what is what it's called that I've used in the past. That will work if you are really looking to take some interior stainings or surface stainings off the pan. Um, but, you know, otherwise I would say if it doesn't really bother you, don't sweat it. Like I'm, I use my pants to cook if they have a little bit of dis discoloration here and there. Doesn't personally bother me. But if you want to keep 'em in tip top shape, I would recommend getting one of those. Um, you know, one of those products. You can take a scouring pad too and just kind of clean it up. Uh, that works really well. You'll notice if you're doing a lot of forks over knife style cooking, no oil cooking, or even just a lot of sauteing, even with oil, you'll notice that pan discoloration is a pretty common thing. Um, you know, sometimes those pans that were shiny and beautiful just weren't being used very much. So if you're cooking a lot, like if you're cooking every day, um, a lot of those pans are gonna have just a little bit of a change over time. Not that you can't bring 'em back to life.
