Question:

Are there kitchen layout plans that are better for the everyday cooking person who does not have room for an island?

— Annette Moore

Answer:

I will say this we designed our really our kitchen redesigned last year. And I must have read every article in the world and decided that I had read too many articles and what I did was figured out how I work. And I work in two spaces. I work near the sink and I work near the stove. So I made sure that the sink in the stove were within the arm's length on either side of me and I would like to preface that my finished kitchen is about 11 by 11 feet. So it's not a ginormous kitchen, but in terms of it being a practical I have stove here and I have a sink here and rather than having a traditional cabinets put in we had drawers put into the really easy in terms of storage and makes it very easy to get things out. So I think you might want to look at your storage and then lastly a trip to Ikea is always eye-opening and one of the things that I did buy at Ikea was a Two-tiered workstation with the fancy schmances stainless steel top and I use that so what if I'm teaching a zoom class it's what I use so that I have a nice background of my pretty cabinets and tile but I think you have to investigate your work style what works best for you and I'm going to add them also left-handed. So that was another important thing for me that there would be enough space on my left side so that I would have easy access to cutting boards my knives and other things that are important to me, so it's sort of like a self-searching Endeavors that you just have to find out what works for you. And yes, there are some things I would have done differently now that I've been living in this new kitchen for a year great question.
