Question:

Can you discuss culinary uses of Fenugreek? When a recipe calls for Fenugreek, does it mean ground powder?

— Jared Ross

Answer:

Fenugreek is it's actually a seed I prefer using a ground sometimes for added flavor before I use it in a recipe or before I even grind it. I will soak it overnight in some water. I'll save that water to use as part of the ingredient and then just smash it up either with a mortar and pestle or just added to the dish but it has lots and lots of Sort of like it's like an omni spice because you can use it in curry and lentil stew if you don't have fenugreek and it calls board in a recipe. No need to fret you can use mustard seeds and maple syrup or you could use maple syrup because the taste of fenugreek itself has the taste of yellow mustard and maple syrup. So I think you can also find a ground if that's helpful to you. But that was a very good question. Very good question. Hold on a second. Time this I just these just things that I like but this company here pride of and they they do different geographic regions. So I happen to love this Tunisian Harissa that they make sometimes you want to get used to spices and aren't sure what will complement them. I suggest to go to burlap and Barrel which is a very informative spice site as well as Penzey which also is very informative and I always find I learned so much when I go to those websites, so good luck and let us know what you decide to do Jared with those with the fenugreek that you have.
