Are there some hidden secrets for making dried mushrooms moist and soft?

Answer:
The quick answer is that, uh, no, there aren't any, uh, tips or, or secrets or, uh, or chef hints to share with you. Rather, the drying process, the dehydration process, changes the structure of the food, um, in question such that when we rehydrate that food, it will not revert to its original state. Okay? And, um, so the result, uh, indeed is, uh, a chewier, um, you know, more firm, um, you know, to call it tough, uh, finished product. And, uh, of course, cooking will soften that up to some extent, but it's still gonna have that sort of a texture, and it will not revert to that, um, more succulent soft texture of the fresh product. Okay? It has been fundamentally changed through the dehydration process.
