Question:

Can u provide us different ways to marinate and cook tofu?

— Maryam Arnous

Answer:

So it's funny here we are today talking about tofu and ways to make it, and I'm gonna say this, the Rouxbe recipe for roasted tofu is the best recipe in the world and the marinade that they use that has maple syrup and garlic and, uh, liquid smoke. If you don't have liquid smoke, remember that you can use smoke pepper rico to get that smokey flavor. However, there are some nights where I just don't wanna have something that has, um, a barbecue e flavor to it. So what I will do is I will marinate the tofu in some marinara sauce, and I will add oregano and garlic and other things so that if I'm having a pasta dish, my tofu a accompanies that just beautifully. Um, I like to air fry it a lot. Um, sometimes I will take those trader Joe, um, the everything bagel seasoning and just roll the, uh, cubes of, uh, tofu in that and then air fry them and they come out like, really nice croutons or you can put them into a salad. So I think to answer the question, uh, for marinating is that whatever you feel like having, if you have a salad dressing that you like, marinate it in that salad dressing. Um, if you wanted to add something sweet and hot, put some of this in it. So I think that it all depends upon what you like, but I think that an out of the gate recipe is the one from, um, from Rouxbe because that recipe is fail proof. And I always love reading the assignments because at the end somebody will say, oh my goodness, I didn't think I was going to love tofu. This is the best thing I've ever made in this program. So, um, the marinade is up to you. Salad dressing, pasta, sauce, whatever you wanna make it. I, I think that you'll have fun putting some flavors together.
