Question:

Do you make your own nut butters? Which appliances do you use?

— Annette Moore

Answer:

This can be a discussion for many, but I'm gonna say that there's nothing better than a Vitamix. Um, you know, the Vitamix comes in, you can get the 64 ounce container, or they have a smaller one that is for a grinding and making your own, uh, nut butters and flowers and things like that. And the, the propeller, the blade goes in the opposite direction when you're making your own nut butters. Um, so I like to use, I don't add any oil, I just throw those nuts in there. Uh, you can use raw or roasted, whichever your fancy is. Um, the trick about that is, uh, you know, we're so used to the big tub of peanut butter from Costco that, um, we think that we have to make a lot of peanut butter, but you want to, especially if it's raw, uh, you wanna make it in small batches, maybe put it into an eight ounce jar, keep it in the refrigerator, date it. Um, but I do love my Vitamix for that, uh, that that's what I think of Vitamix was, uh, was made for. But if you don't have a Vitamix, you know, a food processor will do the same exact thing. It'll just take a little bit longer. And I always would put it on, um, high speed for that. So, um, that's a bit another very, very good question. You know, nowadays, um, there's that ninja bullet, uh, that has become very popular with people. Um, some people have a Vitamix, some people don't. Um, but it's what you have on hand. And, um, yeah, I I think making your own nut butters is good. I prefer roasted nuts. That's just me. Um, and you can roast them in your oven. Um, keep the skin on or off. It's totally up to you.
