Question
Bettina Amato
Do you recommend cooking with an air fryer? Do you have a specific one you could recommend for 2 people?
Answer
Um, you know, um, I have used an, uh, air fryer a number of times. Um, I have checked it out from my, uh, local library and, um, uh, do I recommend it? Uh, I think it's quite fine. Um, if there is a compelling reason why you want, um, you know, a a, a stove top, or I'm sorry, a countertop appliance, um, then, then go for it. Um, but otherwise, if you've got other equipment that does that, you know, like a, a broiler or an oven or a toaster oven or something like that, um, then that's quite fine to use as well. You know, as, as I've mentioned, it's just a matter of getting used to, uh, what it is that you have, uh, developing the skills and the food handling knowledge around what you have, uh, unless there's a compelling reason to, to shift to some different technology. Okay. Uh, as for brands, um, uh, and specific models, no, uh, I don't have any suggestions, but what I do suggest, uh, is that for any sort of an equipment or tool purchase, that you go online and look for reviews, uh, from two sources, uh, consumers, right? The, the end user, consumer, uh, and professionals, uh, to get their opinion on whatever. Uh, and then read through those, um, uh, the, the commentary in order to figure out what features, pluses, and minuses are gonna be most meaningful to you. Okay? Don't necessarily, uh, just grab a, uh, five star rating and run with it. In fact, I avoid the five star ratings and I drill down to the one, two, and three star ratings because that's where the more interesting commentary lies. I wanna know what the issues are with this air fryer, um, in, in case those same issues are gonna be meaningful to me as the cook. Um, on the other hand, if the air fryer is getting five star ratings and everything goes well, then, uh, then it's probably gonna go well for me too. Okay? So take that approach when you read reviews and, um, you know, critically choose what's sort of equipment, you know, appliance or tool that you might introduce to your kitchen. Thank you.
