Why doesn’t seem the FOK course cover much about microwave cooking?

Answer:
When you look at your kitchen and you look at developing new kitchen skills, uh, learning how to, for example, roast without using oil, when you think of that roasted vegetable assignment, uh, that would not come out very well in your microwave. Or when you think about basic cooking skills, they rely on, um, uh, topical heat from a stove, uh, and also oven heat. We'd also don't focus on things like using an instapot as well. So I think that we're kind of your kitchen back to basics, because one of the things that we like to do is to sort of, um, reintroduce to people the basics of cooking and how important it is to know how to cut your vegetables properly, how to roast 'em so that they caramelize beautifully, um, et cetera, et cetera. I think that's a good question. Um, I know a lot of, uh, chefs, the plant-based chefs, and most of us veer away from using the microwave, with the exception of maybe having to reheat something. So it's a very good question, but let's get back to basics. Let's get those knives worked on and our chopping blocks and everything else like that.
