Question:

Can you share the brand/model of airfryer you use?

— Diane Kirschner

Answer:

Yes. Uh, well, I'll give you a story. I had the Cuisinart, uh, uh, combo oven, and it's an air fryer, a toaster, um, uh, an air fryer toaster oven. Uh, it does all kinds of things and I loved it a lot. But, uh, at the time, uh, we were in our old kitchen and, uh, it was blowing a fuse all the time. So now I have a black and decker, uh, which was much more economical, and I actually like a lot better. It doesn't have any bells or whistles. There's no LCD readout, it just has old school knobs and dials on it. And I enjoy cooking that way because I don't have to rely on technology telling me how something should be cooked or when it should be done. And then the other thing is, um, the shelf life of some of these, uh, technologically wizard kind of air fryers is often very short. So I've had this for more than two years, and it works like a dream. So again, uh, I just wanna say one more thing about the, um, toaster ovens. You have to take a look at the space that you have on your countertop and see how that will work. There are some newer ovens that not only have confection ovens in them, but also have air fryers. I don't know how any energy efficient that would be, but, uh, find something that works best for you. I started out, by the way, with a $39 dash DASH brand, um, air fryer. It looks like one of those old school hair dryers. Uh, it, it was less than, I think it was a quart. And all I fried in it were, uh, air fried, were like potatoes, uh, because they would come out nice and crispy. But I like better being able to lay things out on a tray, like back to our roasting vegetables assignment where they're not touching so that they roast supremely rather than steam. So, head to a department store, or a big box store, or a specialty store. And I think that should, uh, work for you.
