Question:
Do you have any tips on making your own tofu?
— Julieta Aguilera
Answer:
I don't have a specific recipe on me but making tofu is not as hard as you might think. So actually the biggest part is to be able to cook your your soybeans basically cook them down and then dump your water out and then put them the water back into your soy and then you're gonna let it you're gonna blend the entire thing up high-powered blenders always a good thing but blending those up and then you're gonna basically let all the sediment kind of go down as you're pressing the Blended up kind of soup of soy go down and letting the water release off of that. There's you know, It's a fun process to do and I would try probably a couple different methods to be able to see getting the right soya and the beans for the tofu is probably a good step. I don't know any suppliers in particular. I've just had friends that have given me the beans that have worked with before but probably starting it with that would be a really good place to start and then maybe trying with a couple different suppliers to see what kinds of beans you like now the process. Is pretty straightforward if you have the patience for it because it does take a little bit of time. Now. Most of the processing is they're doing with the presses and stuff like that are done in plastic. So if you're trying to avoid the plastic the plastic that you might want to look for some metal tools to do that, but if you're specifically just trying to avoid the plastic patching pack packaging that's understandable as well. Depending on where you live. You can also buy fresh tofu from some places as well actually been some places in California in California where they actually could buy, you know, fresh tofu right from the vendor before it's packaged as well. So you can bring your own container with you and have it as well like that super fun, but definitely not accessible why everybody but making it at home is you know with a couple simple tools. You can make that happen. Just sourcing up the best Bean for your product is probably the best place that I would see to start with that. So I hope that helps a little bit. I know that there's a lot of different recipes online to be able to try and with most recipes try a couple different ones and see what works best for. You I hope that helps.
