Question:

With your Ayurvedic expertise, for someone of Vata composition, what foods should be consumed and avoided to remove fecal body odor, and restless leg syndrome?

— Maria Cruz

Answer:

Okay, um, so Maria, you're asking a couple of, uh, you know, very specific sort of questions here, um, which, um, uh, I'm not able to answer. Um, I would recommend that you reach out to a, um, uh, a Ayurvedic, uh, uh, uh, care provider, uh, to address fecal body odor and restless leg syndrome, uh, specifically because there's gonna be, uh, a much longer workup that'll be a part of this. Okay? Um, anyone who works with you, uh, should take the time to, uh, get your full, uh, life history in addition to your medical history and your family's medical history. Okay? Uh, and, um, you know, start to, uh, address your, uh, your, uh, ty, your ty, your, um, your, your, uh, innate state of balanced doshas, uh, versus your ti, which is your current state of imbalance. Um, you know, so that, that, uh, gap can be addressed, uh, with whatever approach is gonna be most, uh, uh, most suitable for you. Um, now, more generally speaking in terms of what, uh, foods should be consumed for someone, uh, of a wa Doha, um, wata, uh, uh, people wa the wa wata, uh, uh, constitution is, is generally characterized okay by, um, dryness and, um, uh, a lot of movement. Uh, it could, could be mental as well as physical and, uh, you know, emotional, spiritual, just movement across, uh, uh, all the facets of the human. And, uh, so, you know, generally foods that are recommended are gonna be, uh, heavier, uh, you know, grounding foods and, um, uh, you know, sweet foods, uh, like grains, uh, you know, as well as, uh, fruits are gonna be part of that. Uh, things like legumes are, have some heaviness to 'em and some sweetness to 'em. Um, you know, depending on the individual, uh, they should often be taken, uh, with some moderation because, um, many legumes are also characterized, um, by as stringency, which can aggravate, uh, wata dosha. So do, do, uh, take care, uh, in terms of those staple foods, okay. In your diet. Um, and then, uh, you know, also, uh, to maintain a consistent daily, especially sleep schedule and meal schedule, uh, is desirable for the wata individual. And, um, so to, to get, uh, a good night's sleep, you know, aim for that, uh, you know, eight, eight-ish hours, uh, but going to sleep at, at about the same time and getting up at about the same time is desirable, okay? To maintain that sort of consistency, uh, in your, uh, body rhythm okay, is gonna be a good thing. And, um, uh, the, uh, daily, uh, aga or, uh, massage with oil, uh, is also recommended for, uh, folks with, uh, a wata composition. Again, you know, some of this, uh, will vary a little bit, depending on other details about you. Okay. Uh, regarding, uh, the possibility of, of other doshas that are prominent, uh, many times, uh, we, we are not just characterized by Juan, but, uh, often two doshas and some of us even by all three, uh, uh, so we'd wanted to drill down a little bit deeper to see, uh, you know, just who you are, Maria, at a more detailed level. Okay? Um, but, um, you know, sesame oil, uh, is a warming oil and, uh, is often recommended, uh, for folks of a, uh, a wata composition. Okay? So those are a few ideas that come to mind, but again, I recommend that you would, you would work more directly with, uh, an Ayurveda care provider, uh, that can drill down and really understand who you are. And, uh, look at not just the, the main doshas, but the sub doshas and whatever else might be, uh, you know, leading to these two, uh, conditions that you have mentioned.
