Question:
Do you have recommendations for finding nontoxic cooking equipment such as pans, utensils, cookers, blenders, cutting boards etc?
— Bonita Garafalo
Answer:
So, um, you know, so non-toxic cooking equipment, uh, you know, I think that's gonna be by brand and by utensil cookers, you know, so, uh, quite honestly I would, I personally would just google non-toxic, you know, uh, cooker or blunder, whatever you're looking for on those. Um, you know, if most blunder containers are gonna have that kind of high density plastic, but you can find B blenders that are still made outta glass as well. Um, you can even find replacement parts for existing blunders that are made out of glass too. Cutting boards. Um, I typically would go with a wood cutting board, um, same with utensils, try to stick with the uh, the wooden utensils. Um, at the same time you can do tongs that are out of wood and you can do spoons that are out of wood. Just know kind of what they're using on the outside. Um, try to go with local arsons as much as possible because you know, you can ask them specifically what they're doing on their woods to be able to finish them out. 'cause they typically are using some sort of oil or stain on them. Typically it's not a stain but it's a non-toxic oil to be able to put on the outside of that. But ask them, you know, where they're getting their wood from, what they're actually using it to be able to finish the woods as well too. The cooking equipment and pans, that's something you're gonna have to Google on those specifically, um, because that's going to differ per brand.
