Question:
I coach in the CDC-DPP program. Participants are always asking what are the lowest sugar/glycemic index fruits for diabetes prevention. ?
— Theresa Eury
Answer:
So there is a link I put up there to the University of Sydney. They are the ones around the world that are doing the most work in the glycemic index. And you can actually go here and search different fruit to see what the glycemic index is. However, I did look up what the American Diabetes Association says on fruit and glycemic index and they say as long as you eat fruit that doesn't have added sugar, fruit is a part of a healthy diet with someone with diabetes, with dried fruit. However, you have to eat less of it because it's higher in sugar.
