Question:
Does dried fruit have the same nutritional value as fresh fruit?
— Diane Kirschner
Answer:
This is a good question, Diane. So, nope. And it has a lot more sugar because you could sit down and eat a plum and you probably fill up, but if you sat down and ate a bunch of prunes, you're gonna get more fiber from the dried fruit. But, um, the drying process, you're gonna lose a lot of your, at least your water soluble vitamins in there. Um, dried fruit, again, higher in fiber. I mean, yes, higher in fiber, but also really high in sugar. So you gotta watch that.
