Question:
Would love any tips or advice to move through the course successfully.?
— Anna Ishchenko
Answer:
I did everything in order. Uh, I just figured that it would be a lot easier for me to follow along with what I needed to do so that I could contain the structure that's in the program because the program is very, very structured. However, uh, look at a unit and there might be one or two recipes that might be first cousins and they might use similar ingredients. So I would make those the same week so that you have familiarity with cooking techniques, with ingredients, so forth and so on. And the other thing is, um, I recently had an experience where a student went out of order and fell behind. So the difficult assignments in a unit sometimes are the best ones to finish first because they do require usually more ingredients, more technique, and more time. So that's just something for you to think about. And the other thing is, I designated a day of the week to make that field trip to H Mart or to go to Philadelphia's Chinatown or to go to a Latino market to get a specific masa that I wanted to use. So I think it's just, uh, organization and uh, I also like, I love this course so much, uh, that to me it was just pure fun.
