Question:

I'm curious about what food to bring for overseas flights?

— Therese Sallenbach

Answer:

You wanna be able to finish 'em before you get off the plane. I've watched enough video of people not realizing they still had an orange or some, some live produce and being, uh, put aside and having their bags go through. So whatever you bring, make sure that you can finish it on the flight. 'cause you don't wanna get in trouble when you go overseas. Um, 'cause they do not allow, most places do not allow you to bring produce in. Um, so what you're gonna think about though is you are gonna think about foods that are really high in water because you're gonna get really dehydrated on that flight. And so, um, q cucumbers are really, really high in, in water. Uh, fruits like watermelon, strawberry. Most fruits and vegetables are really high in water to begin with. And so I would just do something that's not gonna get all mushy. So I probably wouldn't do watermelon, but I would definitely pack up some grapes and some berries and then I would cut up some cucumber with little cherry tomatoes that are so good right now. Especially if you're growing 'em yourself. And just really focus on, on that and make sure you drink a lot of water. Um, when I travel, I'm gluten free, dairy free, so I have to bring something. So I'll usually bring a SunButter and jelly sandwich on whole grain bread that's gluten-free, all bring nuts, nuts and seeds. Um, but don't eat too many nuts and seeds that like, if you're not used to eating a lot of nuts seeds, you eat nuts and seeds, you're gonna get really gassy on the plane and no one wants that, especially you 'cause it's very painful.
