Question:

Are you suggesting 6 vegetables per day, separate from all the fruits you might eat?

— Marsha Seidelman

Answer:

So Marsha, yes there, it's um, it's five, about five vegetables a day and then about two to three fruit. So when you're really looking at plant-based foods, um, and you look at actually like something like the Mediterranean diet, there are seven to 10 fruits and vegetables in that diet. So there's the five a day, which was three vegetables, two fruit. Um, what science is really showing is the more that you can consume, the better off that you'll be.
