Question:

What is the best way to cook raw black beans after being soaked, in an instant pot to be flavorful and not overcooked?

— Kama Newberry

Answer:

Instant Pot is a great way to be able to cook, uh, black beans. Um, you know, after you're soaking them, put 'em in there, cover 'em with water. Uh, there are different recommendations for Insta pots depending on the ones you have. Um, and uh, there are lots of different, you know, depending on the recipe and what you're cooking are great things that you can just Google, um, black bean, uh, how long to cook depending on which Insta Potts you have as well too. Um, but I typically for black beans, I'll put a little kobu in it, which is just a little bit of seaweed in the bottom of them. Um, it helps release some of the natural gases in them after soaking them as well too. We'll cover it with water and cook it for about an hour, hour and 10 minutes, depending on, uh, how long I've soaked them for as well too. Um, but lots of different recipes out there on how I, how to make the best black beans and what you wanna add to them. 'cause a lot of people just add onions and other flavors to them as they're cooking them, so the beans absorb that flavor too.
