Question:

If you were making a "tea" for friends, what would be your go-to accompanying nosh?

— Diane Kirschner

Answer:

Well, it depends, of course, what the season is, you know, because that might, uh, that might, you know, I might make, uh, a little soup and some homemade crackers if it's, if it's this temperature that we're having in the Northeast right now, which is rather frigid. Um, my favorite tea that I've been, uh, really enjoying lately is a gen macha. I don't know if you guys know what that is. It's a, it's a type of, it's Japanese, it's green tea, but it's also includes toasted rice. So it has the most delectable aroma and flavor, and it really is distinctive. So I throw that out as just a tea possibility. Um, I, I like to make little, um, crackers, uh, but I also, uh, if it was in the warmer seasons, you know, one of my favorite things to do is just to make a, a little mousse out of, um, chia seeds and soy milk. And I add a, a, just a tablespoon or so per cup of, uh, homemade yogurt, a soy based yogurt, which is a probiotic, and just leave it out, uh, to culture for a couple of hours. It becomes so dense and rich. It's really like mascar for anybody that, you know, with an Italian background that it's just so delicious. And I might serve that with some, um, roasted plums or other fruit that, um, you know, in a parfait, something along those lines. Well, we will be right over. That sounds totally, Totally Delicious.
