Question:

Can you suggest the best sushi recipes for a dinner party for 8?
— Jennifer Everatt
Answer:
What I would like to do, um, to be able to recommend is, uh, you know, I'm not gonna tell you a specific kind of sushi because it's really, um, you know, it's different per person. You know, some people like different kinds of fish in there, some people don't like fish at all. They'll actually do completely vegetables or, uh, vegetarian or vegan. Um, my family does, uh, sushi together probably every couple weeks and that's actually what I would recommend for you is to be able to get everybody involved. You might wanna make some roll or something like that to kind of get started, just some na gear to get started as well. Um, but you might actually want to invite your guests to help make sushi because it's kind of a fun event to be able to do. And then also everybody can make the sushi that they like best. So what you can do is create a little party, a sushi party by taking different ingredients that are already pre-sliced up. Um, say, you know, avocado, cucumber, carrots, different things like that. If you do fish, you can do the fish as well too. Um, and then have them all set out in different bowls like your mis and plus and then give everybody a rolling mat to be able to start rolling their sushi. Um, I think that's a great fun, um, activity to be able to get people talking and having fun together. Um, is probably what I would recommend for doing a, a dinner party for eight. Without giving you just a specific here, these are the five, you know, roles that you should put out because again, everybody has completely different tastes and different dietary restrictions as well. I'm actually a big fan of eggplant ngu as well, which is basically kind of a roasted sesame eggplant over rice and then wrap with seaweed around that as well. My kids are partial to a, uh, avocado sushi, in fact, uh, I'll try to sneak in other things for them, but usually avocado is the their favorite, but when they're making it themselves, they'll actually eat completely different. Like if I'm making it the only, the avocado one, but if they're making it, they make what they call rainbow rolls, which are, uh, radish, avocado, cucumber, um, usually tofu and maybe even shiitake mushrooms that have been cooked as well too. And because of all the different colors in there, that's why they call it the rainbow roll. Um, but again, you know, for each guest that you have, they might have different, uh, you know, tastes. So having a sushi party where you have everybody kind of come together and make it or at least make it with you, it'd be a fun idea for your sushi party.
