Question:

What is vegan honey?
— Connie Prince
Answer:
Well we, um, there are many vegans who will not eat honey. Um, because the bees have commercially commercial bees are treated very, very, very badly. I suggest you watch a movie called Queen of the Sun and this is about beekeepers all over the world who are keeping bees the right way and that's stealing their honey from them as opposed to the bees that are flown in all the way from New Zealand and then awakened with sugar water. So I am not opposed to local honey, I'm a vegan who isn't opposed to local honey, but I have created a recipe for what I call vegan honey because it has that flavor profile. Mine is a combination of rice syrup, which has a sort of a butterscotchy taste, not very sweet agave and maybe some maple syrup. And I make it in quantity and keep it in my fridge for when I wanna honey flavor. You can, I think find that that recipe is definitely in the course and you might even find it on, I'm sure you can find it on my website as a matter of fact.
