Question:

What is the best way to make coconut yogurt if your can of coconut milk has solidified? Should I blend it before adding the probiotic?

— Sue Baker

Answer:

Adding the probiotic is the key step here, right? But, um, if you are getting a can of coconut milk, and a lot of times you'll see that half the can has, uh, like a liquid and half of it is more of a solid. Um, now if you've got strong arms, you can shake that can as much as you can, but just putting a simple immersion blender in there will actually work really, really well. You can also just put it into a blender. Uh, you can also just put it into a bowl and whisk it up even with a fork. Could be okay to be able to do that. You just wanna make sure that the milk, the coconut milk solids go back in, um, and the water basically get mixed together so you have a smooth texture on that as well. Um, it is an important process if you're doing a yogurt as well, because otherwise that, uh, probiotic won't be able to react in the same way. Um, so definitely, uh, you know, either whisk it up or put an immersion blender in it or a couple different ways to be able to, um, work that out. Um, and when I say put an immersion blunder in it, I don't mean put the immersion blender into the can. If you do that, hold a spray out of the can immediately, it's definitely transfer it into another bowl before doing that as well, or a blender, whatever kind of works for you.
