Question:

It takes me a long time to cut up food, how can I shorten the time it takes?

— Shereen Lokeman

Answer:

So, uh, there are two factors to, uh, knife skill, uh, development and, and proficiency on the knife. And one is the technique, and then number two is practice. And it's during, it's during practice that you develop your confidence relative to the technique, and you also add speed to your work. Okay? So work, you know, uh, keep those two things in mind. In that sequence, focus very slowly and methodically with, with safety in mind, um, on the technique development and, and understanding. And then add speed to your work, and then your overall experience will be much more efficient. But practice, practice, practice makes us better at whatever we do.
