Question:

What is your favourite use of peanut butter in cooking?

— Stacey S

Answer:

I'm sure that you have a favorite, and I know for myself, having grown up, I think my mom always bought, uh, those creamy blends, you know, uh, and when you eat whole foods, you want to eat as good and delicious a peanut butter as you can. So this is my favorite. It's called Teddy's, uh, this is the unsalted crunchy, I prefer the crunch. And, uh, it is from a company, uh, in Worcester, Massachusetts. And I think I like it because my dad grew up in Worcester and it's just kind of like a, a nice connection. The other thing I'm gonna say is if you're gonna use peanut butter in anything, start with a good quality peanut butter. And this brand even has a peanut butter that has ground flaxseed in it. So if you are baking or you are having it in your cereal or your oatmeal, you get a little extra Omega-3 boost with the flaxseed. And the other thing that I wanted to say about it is that the success of getting your peanut butter is in what you use. I prefer a offset, a mini offset spatula. You can get these at the doll dollar store in the craft section, uh, because artists use them for, for acrylic paint. So you can use this, or I have a really nice long spoon that dips in well and gets into the corner. And if you have a mini spatula, scoop it out and already, uh, you're not using, um, too many utensils, but high quality peanut butter, no additives, uh, if you prefer no salt and no sugar. But, uh, teddy's all natural is my favorite peanut butter, and I use it in all kinds of things, making sauces, uh, mixing it with sriracha. So there's lots that you can do with it.
