Question:

Tips on how to prolong the shelf life of leafy greens and other veggies in the fridge?

— Tokie Williams

Answer:

I have a little stainless steel bowl. And when you take the top off I use a coffee filter oftentimes because I don't have paper towels in my house. So here is a coffee filter. Here are my greens. These have been in here for about four days. Nothing is slimy. So you're gonna cover it and then you're going to put the top on it and then you're going to invert it so that any moisture that is in the container will be absorbed by the coffee filter. I have kept Greens in containers like this for up to 10 days without anything at all becoming rancid or slimy or dark green or an edible. And you know, if you look at the prices of food learning to save food and use it, well is a very cost effective way to maintain your plant-based kitchen. So the other thing I want to show you is Um plastic bags. You can recycle them till the 12th of Never and in this bag, I have a linen towel and what's in it is anyway any guesses from anyone I have some? Romaine lettuce that I have washed and I have cleaned and I dried and then I just keep it stored in here and use it as I need to go along. There is no guessing game in the refrigerator because you know what things are and you never have to question whether or not something is healthy or good or good. To use so these are two great methods that I use for All Greens and also for just about any vegetables that I keep in my refrigerator, so hopefully that's helpful.
