Question:
How do I make homemade Mayo that actually taste good?
— Marie Leak
Answer:
Well, you know Maureen my own personal motto is hummus is the new Mayo. So if I make the Rouxbe tuna-less salad instead of using the cashew creme that they suggest I will use hummus. There are many recipes out there. I would not use the commercial one because if you read the ingredient list, it goes back to having recipes that have some artificial ingredients or maybe the salt is too much hummus is so easy to make it's so economical and you can season it in many different ways. Also, just one last thing about hummus when I make hummus. I will use my Vitamix and then at the end after things have mixed I throw in a nice Cube and then I put it back on and whiz it away. And the reason being is that when the ice is breaking down it helps to break down the texture of the garbanzo bean mixture and makes it smoother and it has a little bit of liquid just exactly what you need for the right texture. So that's just a little kitchen tip from my house to yours and let us know how you make out Marie, but trying to avoid the commercial Mayo. I mean here's the thing. When you see major food brands jumping on the plant quote plant-based bandwagon. I mean I even saw a detergent. On the cleaning aisle at the grocery store with the words plant based on it. And the thing of it is that you want to use a soap not a detergent because detergents have harmful chemicals in them.
