Question:

Any suggestions when using dried, reconstituted mushrooms so they aren't rubbery in texture?

— Theresa Homan

Answer:

You know in my experience in a way rehydrating or reconstituting dried mushrooms does result in a a different texture, right? It's one that's a little tougher a little chewier a little rubber rear someone would say and if that's a texture that you don't like then consider a couple of things. I mean one would be to cut the reconstituted mushroom into smaller pieces so that it's more tender and then also less noticeable. Now another approach is while the mushroom is still dry to grind it to some extent and you can you it's gonna be up to you to choose the coarseness. You can take it all the way down to a pretty fine powder and then add that to your preparations to get. The mushroom flavor and of course the texture will be something different. Okay, and I hope you'll give that a try and see what you might like. Thank you. All right.
