Question:

Cooking utensils, non coated or non toxic coating? Is there a difference? Where do you purchase safe cooking pots and pans?

— Pamela Simmons

Answer:

You know if something is coated and the claim is to be a non-toxic coating. It's going to be up to you the consumer to do your due diligence to come to a comfortable place, you know between you and the utensil, okay before you buy it if an item is non-coated. then I see so, you know, one of the concerns could be that you might have some elements of the metal that Leach out into your food, especially when it bumps up against acidic ingredients, but you know with let's just say we talk about stainless steel items stainless steel is fairly non-reactive, you know with with most food items and there's there's certainly different qualities of stainless steel and you know there again, it's going to be up to you as a consumer to do your due diligence to read consumer reviews and then to find the product the quality level of which is going to meet your needs or your expectations, okay? You know if things are coated in some way there's a good chance that over time that coating will start to come off. That's been my experience anyway. And so when it comes to cookware as an example, I consider any coated cookware to be a disposable item because sooner or later for example, a non-stick surface will accumulate what I call Micro scratches and will become a stick surface and you'll need to or want to replace it and it could be a matter of months. It could be a matter of years, but that day will come at least in my experience. So I have void non-stick coated, you know cookware. In terms of where do I purchase safe cookware, you know, I, you know stainless steel is very easy to use. It's easy to clean. It takes bumps and bruises, so to speak and still looks good, and you know go to whatever store is going to carry the brand that you're opting for based upon the due diligence that you have performed. Okay, and go forth and enjoy cooking. Thank you.
