Question:

Is it bad to eat olive oil?

— D Paull

Answer:

That is a an interesting question. So it's I wouldn't say that it's Bad, but there might be better options. So the reason that people try to avoid olive oil is highly because of the caloric the caloric intake, you know, it's a hundred and twenty calories per tablespoon of any kind of oil. It doesn't matter if it's olive oil or canola oil or avocado oil or coconut oil 120 calories per tablespoon. Of oil so if you're sauteing something in a pan, a lot of people will say put you know, two tablespoons of oil down in your pan to be able to start. Well, you're already adding 260 calories to your dish before you even put anything into it. Right? So the reason a lot of people try to avoid the olive oil is to be able to avoid the calories for it. Now, you know, what I recommend is if people want to have oil is basically to put a little drop in the bottom of the pan and then take a paper towel and wipe the Bob on the pan if you're trying to get the non-stick surface because that's primarily what people are using oil for is to make a nonstick surface on something. It is definitely not something that is needed. But you know the water saute method Works actually quite well, so I wouldn't say that it's bad to have olive oil, but that's usually the reason that people are saying that to avoid the oil because of the calories on it. Now there are some other studies that have come out, you know, the Dr. Esselstein has had a couple too that has cardiovascular issues with it as well. I'm not a doctor so I'm not gonna go too far down that path but the caloric intake is basically why most people are trying to avoid the killer the calories.
