Question:
Do unopened, dried plums (prunes) freeze well?
— Karen Reed
Answer:
So, you know dried prunes typically, you know say about six months and this is kind of a weird thing that you know, I've seen this before on prunes where the USD actually recommend refrigerating prunes instead of freezing them and partly of that is to be able to get you know, you don't want to have any of the frost bite on them and stuff as well. But you know dried prunes typically last about six months just on their own they can last up to a year if you're refrigerate them, but the only last about a month if you freeze them for some reason that's just the USDA standards. So I think that that's probably what I would go with, you know, if you're looking to save them a little bit longer put them in the refrigerator try to keep them sealed as well too, but I hope that helps up very good.
