Question:

What is the next best ingredient to use as a sweetener other than dried fruit?

— KIm Clubb

Answer:

Well fresh fruit would definitely be on the top of that list dried fruit is great one to be able to use because I use that one probably most often. Now this also depends off your following a whole food plant-based diet. Now if you're not that definitely opens up a lot more categories for you to be able to go into but I think probably if you're eating only Whole Foods and plant-based diets your best, you know, it's going to be a fruit because that's basically where any of the sugars are coming from. Now if you're you know taking that beyond that I would actually use Agave is kind of my go-to as far as adding sweet to things if it's not dried fruit, if you're not vegan, you know, honey is definitely an option but most people who are doing, you know, that kind of a diet aren't doing honey as well. But yeah, it's a dried fruit fresh fruit. Definitely the best places to be able to start in those. There are a lot of other products out there that are derived from you know, fruits and fruit fruits as well some from vegetables, but you know, they're typically pretty processed as well. So at that point you can actually use a granular sugar. You know, I always go for organic granular sugar to make sure that's always vegan as well. So it's not been processed bone meal. But Agave is probably one of those other bets too but quite honestly a date piece is usually the way that I go for, you know for adding any kind of sweetness to any dishes as well.
