Question:
Does aquafaba give people gas or bloating?
— Cynthia Dudak
Answer:
I haven't heard about anyone having a problem digesting aqua faba. Perhaps if you're allergic to chickpeas you might have a problem, but I don't have that problem at all. Um, so I would say not, not a problem. However, you know, there are, I don't have a problem eating beans in general. I think for one thing my body is just used to them because I eat them on a regular, regular basis. And sometimes if you're just starting out, you might have some gas, you might have some bloating, but you just keep eating them and chew them. Well make sure they're cooked properly. You don't want al Dante beans. And I cook my beans with a piece of kombu seaweed and a bay leaf and that helps. Now in terms of aquafaba, z Diva recommends using a piece of seaweed, kambu seaweed when cooking the chickpeas from dried chickpeas. When you want to ma use the liquid, the cooking liquid to make meringue. And I think using the kombu is a way to help the digestibility. So I think that's something that you can think about.
