Question:

I heard a lot about aspartame being bad for people. What is it exactly, and why is it bad?

— Chris

Answer:

So I put all of these together before with artificial sweeteners. I just put them all in the same category, you know, there's all sorts of different ones. There's superlos there's sugar alcohols and there's the aspartame and there's there's just a whole bunch of different ones and they all like I said, the reason I don't there are some you know, there is some evidence that they promote there's certain Certain ones that promote make promote cancer some that may do something gastrointestinal speaking. But the data is the data are not overwhelming on that my biggest concern about all of those sweeteners is that they are so heightened in their level of sweetness that like I said hundreds to thousands of times sweeter than table sugar and that just helps, you know, acclimate the palate to want sweet sweet into all more more again like that dopamine hit the more you have the more you want it. So I recommend avoiding all of that, you know, don't drink sodas. I drink here what I'm drinking now, I have that soda string. So I'm doing sparkling water. That's my new favorite action and really loving that stuff. And if you want flavor add a spritz of line or Spritz of lemon or put berries one of my favorite drinks to when I love one. I used to go to the spa maybe once a year or twice a year and I put a cucumber slices in water. It's like my favorite thing. So I do that now when I entertain I'll do slice of cucumber and maybe slice of orange or pomegranates or whatever. The season is in the in the water and then you get the flavoring from fruit, but without all of the you Need a diet soda, or you don't need any of that. It just it's all about the palette. It's all about making sure you're consuming, you know the whole food source of sweetness and you're not messing with that palette and really getting yourself to adjust to eating the healthful healthful foods.
