Question:
I want to use your single layer vanilla cake to make a honey cake. How could i do this?
— Linda L.
Answer:
So this is a big question that Linda asks. I don't think she is aware of how much, how many riffs I can do on this. First of all, there are many vegans, I would say the majority of vegans who don't eat honey because honey is an animal product. Strictly speaking. Now in my cookbook, vegan Chocolate, I wrote about it and I said I saw a film called Queen of the Sun about beekeepers all over the world who were trying to save the bees and um, it really made an impression on me. So I do buy some local honey for myself, not commercial honey, you Linda is not talking about commercial honey, but Linda, you, Linda and all of you, you can't just use honey in a cake. All of the liquid sweeteners are different. They have not only different flavor profiles but they have different properties. So you can't do that. You can't make the vanilla cake into a honey cake switching out the granulated sugar for honey. Even if you use less honey and use more, you know more of something else, it's not going to bake right. But I put a link to my vegan honey cake in the q and a. Now I will tell you that that cake, that cake is delicious. My family really likes it and my friends do and it's pretty made in a bunt pan, but I make a vegan honey, I think that you could swap out your bee honey. Mine is a be less honey. But Linda, what I would do is cut the recipe by a quarter and see what you can do, make a cupcake and see how it works. So that's the answer.
