Question:

I avoid all processed sweeteners including maple syrup, molasses, dried fruit (dates), etc. What whole food sweeteners do you suggest?

— Karen Palmer

Answer:

I find myself a little puzzled by that because maple syrup is no nothing more than maple SAP taken directly from the tree and boiled off. It is really an unprocessed sweetener and certainly dried fruits dates. That is a whole food that is the fruit with the fiber intact. And so, um, we, we showed a video on making the date paste. I'm a little bit confused as to where you are getting your information about these items. Not being sweeteners. Whole foods sweeteners to me are dates, dried fruits, some maple syrup perhaps. Um, and I think that works really well.
