Question:
Is a vegan diet the ideal diet for someone with Metastatic Prostate Cancer? What is the % of carbs, fat and protein should I aim for?
— Barbara Fingold
Answer:
So you're talking about really prescribing a diet. Um, so is a vegan diet, it depends on the person. So I can give you, I got myself into, uh, the Macrobiotic Institute after I was told that I, you know, there was no cure for my cancer and I couldn't stay there. I actually had to get myself outta there after a couple of days because I couldn't do it no matter what, how hard I tried. I couldn't follow a vegan diet, it didn't work with my body. In that same macrobiotic institute, there were people that looked like they were thriving and you know, people with brain cancer and, and other tor storms forms of cancer that looked like the epitome of health. And there were others that looked like they hadn't eaten in about a hundred years. Um, sunken eyeballs, your body is always gonna be the best, best ans give you the best answer that you could ever, ever get. Uh, the more plants in your diet absolutely. Do you have to go as far as becoming a vegan? I'm not sure, uh, that would take a one-on-one conversation with somebody who, who works in the field of oncology and is also, um, either a C N S or a dietician that can, can answer that question. You will not go wrong adding more fruits and vegetables to your diet. And I can tell you that with prostate cancer, there's a lot of science about certain foods that help, um, with that specific cancer. Yeah. Um, but that is something you do wanna specifically look for. Um, some, yeah. Local advice for yourself there, Barbara.
