Question:
I aim to eat a wide variety of veg and fruit. But am limited in what I can access (fresh or frozen.) Should I buy nonorganic?
— Lynda Benham
Answer:
We spoke a few weeks ago how Clarence's Bird's Eye was a genius when he realized that you could flesh, freeze those vegetables right at the farm and take them to you. Sometimes I do believe, while there's nothing as delicious as fresh kale for a salad or fresh mushrooms for a saute, but if you're making a soup, frozen mushrooms from the Woodstock company work perfectly as do other frozen vegetables. I would, uh, and maybe Patrick can bring this up to, uh, for us, is I would take a look at the Clean 15 and the Dirty Dozen, and you can take a look at that, uh, just to make sure that you're on the right path of what you eat. I don't always eat organic, uh, but I always look for the thing that will be, uh, the most nutrient dense for me. And I have some of those cleaners that I use on vegetables. So, um, let's see. Can she get some information online? Uh, should I buy non-organic? So that's totally up to you. I think you have to look at a couple of things, and we mentioned this a few weeks ago, is, uh, seeing the country of origin for the food that you're eating. Um, I like to eat frozen Brussels sprouts from Whole Foods market because they are grown in Brussels. And I don't like eating food from some countries because I don't, uh, necessarily trust not only their organic integrity, but the just their basic food growing principles. So that is totally up to you.
